Think Without Fear

The most important part of overcoming fear is to keep yourself motivated, and nothing will be able to knock you off your perch – not even the thought of failure. If there’s one personality trait you must learn to develop, it’s your confidence. And that begins with an ability to have faith in yourself. If you truly want to break out of the ‘ordinary’ and become a legend, you’ll have to set yourself big goals – and commit yourself to your visions.

Remind Yourself How Far You’ve Come

Where were you ten years ago? Chances are, you’ve come a long way since then. You’ve lived different places, seen things, heard things, learned things. Look back on your life and recognize what you’ve achieved. Imagine how much more you can achieve in the next ten years. Focus on that as inspiration to keep pushing forward. You’ve beaten the odds before – so you’ll do it again. 

Be Grateful

When you hear the little voice in your head telling you that you can’t do something, put your internal earplugs in. That’s your ego speaking, and it needs a good talking to. Drown that voice out by focusing on the things you’re grateful for. Make a list. Say each item out loud. Message a friend and tell them that you’re grateful for them.

Rest And Recover

Our brains thrive on change. When we spend too long in the grind, we get bored and frustrated. One of the biggest gifts you can give yourself is rest and recovery. Think of it as a kind of return-on-investment. Athletes, for example, know that if they keep pushing their bodies, their muscles won’t have a chance to rebuild properly. Take a break. Get some air. Head into the woods. Visit friends or family. Exercise. When you feel like giving up, it could just be that you need to recharge your batteries.

Follow Through

Even when everything seems to be heading towards doom and gloom, you have to keep taking those steps forward. Tiny steps are better than not moving at all. You’ll never know how something is going to turn out until you DO it. Send that email, make that call, arrange the appointment with the investor, write that article. Stay focused and you’ll be rewarded.
